Compostable Compounds and Polymers

Compostability is related to Biodegradability under composting conditions.

Items which are made to be collected and treated in such way, must clearly indicate that they are compostable, using logos and under standards, made for that.

They also may hold renewable carbon in them – called bio-content.

That is also a virtue, of a more circular product.

Recently, the notion that these items hold biodegradability in their core, opens new
applications in the field of Agri-products, such as mulch films, Clips, hooks, strings and more.

The idea is that, even if not composted, these items, if neglected in the flied or orchard, will
finally biodegrade, naturally.

Already, regulation towards biodegradability in soil, for item that are potentially in
connection with the soil, is being discussed.
